We recently asked Chris Knierim from Designer Constructions Group & Code Green two questions.
How can green interiors drive social change within industry and community?
Consumer expectations are to have sustainable environmental solutions whose outcomes include economic benefit. This expectation drives service providers to meet this expectations. As evidence of positive outcomes from solutions that are both environmentally and economically sustainable are gathered, the credibility and value is realised. Knowing that as an individual there is evidence that we can make change, is a catalyst for continued social change. Experiencing social change within our own personal spaces embeds deeply in our lived experience. These impacts translate intergenerationally, where economic and environmental change is an expectation and not a dream.
What is your favourite one liner that encourages people to implement deeper levels of sustainability into their lives?
Change can only be sustainable when it's impact on our environmental economic and social framework is viewed holistically.
